Majima didn't trust Sagawa. It was near impossible to trust anyone these days. Sagawa may have been telling the truth when he said he had Majima's best interests in mind. There was no way of REALLY knowing. Nevertheless, Majima was going to have to play ball with him. So he would stay in his home until the torture inflicted upon him in The Hole was healed.

Silence fell around the table as they all considered this new angle. If they were talking about any other guy Seonhee would have suggested finding him a pretty girl who’d show him a good time. [...] But she knew it just wouldn’t work. It’s not that Kiryu-san didn’t appreciate beautiful women; he just wasn’t a man who’d fall head over heels for one so quickly. It was a quality she admired about him, and which, at the same time, annoyed her to no end. The man was immovable like a mountain.
“There had to be someone else,” Saeko said. “You don’t really believe Kiryu-san didn’t even have a crush on anyone after Yumi died, do you?”
