Wei Wuxian from the future accidentally time travels back to when everyone is studying at Gusu. He decides to give some advice to younger Wei Ying on Lan Zhan's feelings and how to seduce Lan Zhan.
Basically, each chapter is a piece of advice future Wei Wuxian gives younger Wei Wuxian on what makes Lan Zhan go crazy. Wei Wuxian is trying to seduce himself a husband, specifically one Lan Wangji.

Wei Ying didn’t know how he’d ended up here.
The omega was heaving in sharp gasps, shock temporarily rendering him mute — truly a feat in and of itself; a perfect representation of how utterly surprising his situation was. He was being held down easily. Firmly restrained as if he wasn’t one of the top four strongest cultivators in their generation, no matter how hard he shoved against the grip on himself his oppressor wasn’t budging at all. Leaving him staring up in a mixture of nervousness, excitement (mostly shock) and fine maybe — he could admit privately to himself — a little bit of fear at the positively enraged alpha that was restraining him.

Wei Wuxian is a man. He’s very sure of that! Has been for a long time! Unfortunately, his body makes people think otherwise. So We Wuxian does what any self-respecting young cultivator would do to fix this annoying error: dig up an old ritual and convince his best friends to enact it with him.
This goes surprisingly well, actually! Except for the part where it’s extremely against the rules of the Cloud Recesses, but that’s never something Wei Wuxian has worried about before, so why worry now?
