Something for his ears only. If he said her name enough times, if he breathed ‘Annabeth’ to the stars enough, would she appear? There are a lot of words one could use to describe Gojo Satoru.
Loving is not one of them. He knows this. Superficially. It's a second-hand understanding at best, because how can someone explain to the sun about why it should love the moon?
But when an incident with a Cursed Object temporarily turns Gojo into a three year old, it becomes obvious to everyone around him that he isn't as self-centered as he seems.
AKA: A Cursed Object turns Gojo into a toddler with serious attachment issues, and for the first time in nearly twenty years, Gojo Satoru is truly unmasked.

Summary
All Suguru saw when he looked at that boy was the beginning of another monster. When that boy looked at the world around him, his gaze was cold, calculating, and distrustful. It was nothing like the monkeys that ran around without a care in the world, so disgustingly cheerful despite the suffering their existence brings. That boy possessed the same cold indifference as the monster that raised him. There was no doubt in Suguru's mind; it was only a matter of time.
Suguru made a grievous mistake the day he chose to spare the lives of those Star Religious Group members, back when he still believed in the good of humanity. Back when he was still a fool, following the delusions of those who thought themselves to be above him. Suguru was no longer that fool, and this time, he wouldn't make the same mistake.

What truly broke him was Megumi. Megumi, the little boy—his little boy—who'd been dealt a shitty hand in life the moment he was born. In some sick, twisted way, he and Gojo were the same. His mother, father, Tsumiki, and even Yuji for a short time. Megumi had lost so much in such a short time. Gojo had sworn to Megumi and himself that he'd always be there, that he wouldn't end up like his father, who failed him.
In the end, Gojo turned out just like him.

Satoru’s mind went to the empty space that he patted every morning, the loneliness that ripped through his chest every time he kissed his ring before sleeping and after waking.
“Better learn how to break it before it gets you in trouble, Suguru.” Satoru clicked his tongue, turning on his heel and leaving before either of them could say anything stupid.
