Summary
Jophiel loved spending time with Azazel. There was no point in trying to justify the reasoning anymore—he hadn’t done that in centuries. It wasn’t for intel or just to keep an eye out. It was simply because he liked Azazel’s company. And it was nights like tonight that had him smiling without a care. Just him, a nice glass of red, and Azazel. It was truly the best way to spend the night.
Was being the key word, the lovely night suddenly interrupted.or

Summary
Oh, how Azazel lived for simple nights like tonight. Perfectly clear skies, moonlight shining through the windows. He and Jophiel lazily drinking in the back of his shop, just talking about whatever came to mind, both able to let their guards down. It was his favorite way to pass the time between assignments. It was nice. It was perfect.
He really shouldn’t have been surprised when it didn’t last. He was used to things not going his way, after all.or

Summary
Aziraphale fantasized about kissing Crowley, he couldn’t deny it. He thought of different scenarios: of dancing in the bookshop, of soft looks at the Ritz, of long walks in St. James’ Park. They all ended the same—with one of them finally confessing, finally saying the words neither of them ever dared to speak, let alone dared to believe to be true.
None of his fantasies were like this.or

"Ughh—I just had the blasted thing!" Jophiel snapped, stomping around the shop and looking under chairs. "It's a heavenly phone! How is it even possible to lose it?"
Azazel was on the other side of the shop, looking around the floor for the missing device. "You're guess is as good as mine, dear."or

Summary
Aziraphale hadn’t seen Crowley in years. After that stunt the demon pulled with the laudanum, he was pulled down to hell, no doubt for some sort of punishment for saving that young girl. Aziraphale tried to wait for awhile, hoping maybe Crowley wouldn’t be gone for too long. After two months of checking the graveyard every day, however, Aziraphale had to get back to his own assignments, much to his disappointment and worry.

Summary
“Oh shit,” Jaskier muttered. He crawled as far back into his little shelter as he could fit. He hadn’t planned for this to happen. He hadn’t thought this through at all. He didn’t know what to do next.
In the blink of an eye, the monster had rounded his shield of roots and was staring directly at him.
Now he’d never know what that look in Geralt’s eyes meant, that quick glance he had chosen to direct at Jaskier when it appeared he’d had less than a second left to live himself.
Jaskier’s hands were clenched at his sides. He wanted nothing more than to wrap his arms around his head and make himself as small as possible. But if he was going to die anyway, he wasn’t going to spend his last moments curled up in a frightened little ball.
Or, Geralt is doing a fine job of pretending being followed around by a pining bard does nothing but annoy him, until Jaskier gets hurt.Series

Summary
Geralt remembered a fight, years before, when his leg had been broken. The bone had broken in two places; his knee had shattered. The pain had lasted for days. That had been nine – ten years ago. The bard had been a child then. A tiny child, unable to walk, unable to think from pain. Because of him. It was hard to breathe. When he thought about it too much, it got hard to breathe.
Jaskier has always known he has a soulmate; a soulmate who is in pain a frankly concerning amount of the time. Geralt isn't sure if he believes that old superstition that witchers have no soulmates, but he knows he isn't bonded to anyone. He is alone, and he likes it that way.
Or, soulmates feel each other's pain and Jaskier is not having a good time.

Summary
“Sh,” Geralt soothes, rocking Jaskier slightly on instinct as he gathers him closer. He has to fight back his own rage when he catches sight of the rope burns around Jaskier’s wrists, the skin angry and red, some places so raw that blood is welling up.
“Geralt,” Jaskier says his name around a sob, and Geralt holds him tighter, resisting the urge to track down the man he just let go to crack his skull open like a fucking egg. “Geralt, the world is yelling. It’s yelling at me, Geralt.”
Geralt, at a loss for words on how to fix it, just tightens his arms further.

Summary
Jaskier grasped Geralt’s body from under the armpits and tugged hard, attempting to drag his friend away. The acid on Geralt’s armor ate his flesh and Jaskier screamed, yet his hold remained firm.
He felt his arms and hands burn as he continued to drag the Witcher deeper into the forest, towards the stream. The acidic smell was nauseating, already threatening to pull him unconscious. With slow, painful steps, he dragged the Witcher to the stream, burning his fingers as he ripped the armor off his friend, the acid already eating through his gloves. The pain in his fingers was agonizing, drawing tears from his eyes as he divested his friend from the armor, then dragged him into the shallow water to wash the acid away.

Summary
“You’re making a mistake,” Jaskier says. “Trust me – I’ll be watching Geralt rip out your intestines before all this is over. I’ve seen it before. It’s not pretty.” He draws himself up, shows his teeth. If this is going to go badly, he intends to be as difficult as possible about it.
The alderman glares at him. “Enough of this,” he says, commanding; there’s a heavy dull thud at the back of Jaskier’s head, and a brief burst of pain, and then blackness.
When Geralt is late returning from a hunt, Jaskier’s the one who suffers for it. Things get worse before they get better.
