Summary
Kai's days have been odd lately. Maybe odd was normal. After all, she has a past of the weird and the dangerous, climbing up mountains, exploring caves and getting very close to aliens. The Navajo Nation and the world at large always had their secrets. That was a domain she was familiar with, but there is something more hazardous on the horizon... personal wounds both being reopened for her and opened for her best friend in another life, Elena Validus.
And Elena's personal wounds aren't only dangerous to her, but to everyone around her. Dark histories and thoughts haunt her and pull her by the strings, now being seized by the sinister Eon and his team of supervillains. The Hive isn't done with her, and Eon won't be done with either of them.

Summary
In this tribute to mystery slashers, a figure lurks in the background bringing the sinister urban legend of Teddy Butcher to life as the gang rises from dormancy to investigate a case of alien interference. A simple case and a throwback to their heyday in high school, right? Perhaps a little too much, seeing as the figure lurking down the dreary New England streets seems to want to remind them through any means necessary the consequences of their long history of mystery solving. These means range from cryptic to ones that may just land the gang in a crypt.
