Summary
Meera, a young Indian girl in crime-ridden Brockton Bay, fractures during a vicious assault by neonazis and becomes the host of a shard of divine strength. She embodies the spirit and powers of heroes from a World far away, and uses that strength to try to hunt down and eliminate the scourge of Nazis from her city.
But there are forces beyond her understanding at work, both within and without.
The girl who woke that one fateful morning might not be the same girl as who ends it.

Summary
The power and ability of Sif is nothing to be dismissive of, but every bit of it and more will have to be leveraged if the future is to be changed. The person in Sif's body remembers a world burned away, a world of ash, and they'll do whatever they can to prevent it from coming to pass, even if it means breaking every rule and drastically changing the balance of power- or, at least, whatever's left of it.
