("Thought we could stay in tonight," Druig had told her over scrambled eggs and bacon, arms wrapped around her waist, tucking his chin into her shoulder. "Have a little dinner to ourselves, like. Treat ourselves." A dark eyebrow cocked. "I'll wear that shirt ya like."
Her heart soars, butterflies lining the pit of her stomach. The spatula sets down, nonstick. "Why, Druig, are you asking me out?"
A cheshire-grin splits his sharp face, the tip of his nose brushing against hers. His breath fans against her face, his hands lifting to sign. She pays no attention, too attuned to him like always, her eyes fixated on him.
"Indeed that I am."
He snickers, his chin jutting out. She follows his eyes and sees she's on the verge of burning the bacon and shoos Druig away with a push, laughing as he saunters to the dining room table.)
