Summary
His fingers brushed his hair. Was he really even entertaining this? Through every awful thing in his life the one thing he had clung to was his dignity and pride. What little of it there was left. He tried to go back to his plan. Brewing something mercifully fatal and apparating somewhere quiet and isolated. But he couldn’t bring himself to feel the same conviction he felt earlier. Unfortunately, he wanted to live. He craved so badly to come out on the other side alright and finally see all of his work pay off. For just a bit of reprieve. And now he had a path open to him. A dismal one, but a path nonetheless.

When the Avatar comes back from seemingly nowhere, Zuko must realize that hiding from his destiny was never going to stop him from finding his full potential.
