He sat on the rock that made the Hokage Monument, on one of the many spikes that were supposed to emulate the hair of his old teacher. Below him, he could see the quiet streets of the village, the flickering lights from rebuilt homes, and the soft glow of restaurants staying open until late. He heard the faraway boisterous laughter of shinobi trading stories over drinks at the bars.
“Soon, your face will be carved on this mountain,” said a familiar voice behind him.
When Kakashi turned, he only sighed. He was not surprised to see Minato-sensei make his presence known in the clearing.

Life moves on. Minato struggles to come to terms with it, but there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
