"You can stop pretending you care about me, okay?" Catra did her best to sound annoyed, but mostly she was tired. "No one is going to fault you. And if you just feel like you owe me for saving you or something, don't. I told you, I wasn't doing that for you."
Glimmer made a frustrated noise, and for a moment Catra thought maybe she had succeeded. Maybe the queen would leave her alone. But no such luck.
"Of course I care about you, you absolute nightmare. Do you think Adora just made an executive decision that we'd all put our lives in danger to save you? She felt so guilty for even thinking about it — why did you ever think telling her not to go back would work? But we all agreed. And if you think I was going to leave you there and let you think you got the last word in anything you were out of your mind."

Summary
C’yra and Lyra exchanged another look, but the sound of a door opening broke the silence before they could speak.
“Mom? Mama?”
Adora felt like she had been punched square in the stomach. That voice… it was soft in a way she had never heard, but she would know it anywhere. She could forget everything else, including her own name, but she would never forget the sound of that voice. She turned, holding her breath, to seek out the speaker.
Her hair seemed softer — not quite the wild mess it had been her entire life, but not the same, unnatural way it had been slicked back the last time Adora saw her. The mask was gone, making her face seem more open and a little rounder, like when they had been kids. Her eyes were wide and openly curious, as if the innocence hadn’t yet been beaten out of her.

Obviously it was something Finn had triggered — that wasn't unusual. Catra had a lot of feelings when it came to motherhood and her own, messed up childhood. The first time had been just a few hours after Finn was born, when Catra had burst into tears and been absolutely inconsolable for hours. She eventually told Adora that she couldn't imagine anyone looking at a baby and thinking it belonged in the Fright Zone, with the Horde. But usually she held Finn closer during those moments. She had never pushed them away.

Catra's breath caught, and she couldn't speak. She hadn't even said goodbye to Angella and Micah, mostly because she hadn't wanted them to tear her down for hurting their daughter, like Glimmer wasn't also at fault for everything that happened. But of course they would take her side. Glimmer was their actual daughter. Catra was just a stray who had followed Glimmer home and looked pathetic enough to keep.
