“How much longer will Mom & Dad be?” Anne asked. Like last time, Janice tensed at the question.
“I-I uh, well, I can’t say I know… chances are, they might not come back until at least tomorrow…” she explained. “D-don’t worry though, I can spend the night to keep you company. Is that ok with you Anne?”.
“Yeah, it's ok… it'll be like a sleepover, right?” Anne responded, showing a bit of optimism.
“Yes! Exactly like a sleepover” Janice agreed cheerfully.
