As his friend clung to him, it suddenly made a lot of sense. He wasn’t super experienced with age regression but there had been times where Lizzie would revert to a more teenage mentality as a way to cope with her stress and while he hadn’t experienced it himself, he could understand how someone under Gillion’s amount of general physical and emotional distress might slip into a younger state of mind to cope.
“Hey guppy, can you tell me how old you are right now?”
Gillion moved his head from where it was buried into Caspian’s chest and looked up at him with big, soft eyes. He held up six fingers.
He cooed, running his fingers through Gillion’s curly hair. “Oh, you’re just a little one, aren’t you?”
There was another tiny nod from against his chest. “That’s perfectly okay, the world probably seems really scary right now so let’s get you somewhere more cozy.”

Gillion tensed, another shock coursing through his veins, he sucked in a sharp breath, his gills flexing. His hands were shaking and wrapped his arms around himself, digging his claws into his skin to keep his muscles from twitching.
Another boom of thunder.
“Does…” Jay hesitated, her eyes widened, “does the lightning… mess with your magic?”
Gillion forced a jerky nod, squeezing his eyes shut.

He curiously cocked his head at her and she took a deep breath, softly grabbing both of his hands and holding them in her palms. “Gillion?”
“Yes, Aslana?” Her name rolled off his tongue sweetly, a rare instance where he didn’t refer to her as ‘my lady’ out of pure formal habit.
“I really, really like you,” It took a couple moments for the cogs in Gillion’s brain to pick up on the implication of the sentence, but when he did his mouth parted and his eyes widened in surprise.
“-And I know the time we’ve spent together isn’t nearly as much as you and your co-captains but since I met you you’ve captivated me with your fearlessness and creativity and every single thing you do you put all your passion into,” She squeezed his hands while he suppressed tail wags.
“I think your handsome, and if you and your partners would allow, I’d love to get to know you more, maybe go out for dinner tomorrow?”
