Summary
I have never made use of my account for posting stuff since I'm not much of a writer. But I am an illustrator. And I am currentley reading a Merlin fanfiction by vividpast which I fell in love with. Over the years I have really read a lot of fanfictions in this fandom and it gets harder and harder to get my fingers on new, good material. I love the premise of vividpast's story. It's something I haven't seen before and it is a lot of fun to read. In the story Merlin gets transported into an alternate universe, in which not Igraine died, but Uther. So Camelot is a very different place. He meets people he recognizes, but doesn't really know. At least this version of them. It's a joy to get to know this other Camelot. Especially since we never got to see this in the series.

The simple truth of it was that Jane was scared. It was an unusual and wholly unwelcome feeling, one that Jane was unaccustomed to. He knew that Lisbon expected sex, that she was waiting for it. The idea that she might have certain expectations of him was frightening. He was out of practice, out of his comfort zone, and overcome by the depth of his own desire for her.
The sure-footed, arrogant Jane that she'd known for the last fourteen years had no standing here. He felt embarrassingly like a teenage boy around her now. Poised on a hair trigger, unable to gather his composure.

Summary
In the midst of capturing a magical creature, Merlin is transported to a world where Camelot is home to thousands of magic-users. King Uther is nowhere to be found, Arthur is a prince again, and Queen Ygraine sits on the throne.
Merlin plans to get back to his own reality, to his own Camelot. To do that, however, he must have access to information that is inside a shielded castle protected by powerful sorcerers. The only way in is to participate in the Apprentice Exam and be an apprentice to a magic-user included in Camelot's court. Should be easy . . . right?
Conspiracies are afoot and Merlin just knows that, somehow, he is or will be involved. Just his luck.
