Summary
As part of the Alden coven, Sairena Alden was expected to uphold the family’s values and ‘maintain balance’ like all the other witches in her family. Except she’s not like all the other witches in her family, and it’s a secret she and her Grandma Daphne have kept for years. After Daphne passes, Sairena is exposed as a Siphoner to her older brother during a fight and flees the coven before they can persecute her. Running to the only other family she has, she finds herself in a small town called Mystic Falls, where her Aunt Elizabeth and her Cousin Caroline live. Summary
As part of the Alden coven, a subsect of the great Forbes bloodline, Sairena Alden was expected to uphold the family’s values and ‘maintain balance’ like all the other witches in her family...until it becomes clear at a young age that Sairena doesn’t have any magic but excels at making potions and concocting herbal remedies. Sairena finds solace in the only non-magical member of her family, her Grandmother, who manages a cafe/bar for the family. When she passes and encourages Sairena to keep the bar running she agrees. Until an incident of anger with another witch debuts her as a siphoner and marks her as an outcast in her once close family, the now young adult finds herself moving from Louisiana up north to a small town in Virginia where her Aunt Elizabeth lived with her younger cousin. Here, she finds the perfect building to start her own little bar and hopefully a new life free of any supernatural drama…until a Mikaelson takes a liking to her bar that is.
