“Daemon,” she cried, sitting up. “What am I to think? My uncle, my husband, you are more experienced than I am in these matters, this I can admit assuredly, without pride. But what does it look like when you speak to me in such a way in front of those Lords who already wait with baited breath for me to make my first simpering, feminine error. You are my husband, the former heir, and I am but a woman attempting to ascend the Iron Throne at the behest of my father, whom I loved dearly. I do not wish to plunge the realm into war simply to remain Queen for nothing, over nothing. A Targaryen sits on the throne, regardless. Not you, not me, not my sons or yours… why can’t you see?”
