“Can’t you get something to help with the pain?” Venti asked.
“I don’t need it,” Xiao said. “I’m used to it. The pain helps me focus.”
Venti frowned. Xiao wasn’t good with expressions, but he could have sworn Venti had some complaint. Perhaps he had read the face wrong, however, as Venti did not press further.
“Hmm,” Venti said, swirling his drink absently. “Maybe what you really need is to get railed properly.”
Xiao almost choked on his own drink. “I—What?”
Six months after the end of the trial that changed everything, Xiao is still struggling with his new life in a world that seems to have no place for him. Venti suggests kink as an outlet, and refers him to an old friend of his, unwittingly throwing Xiao into a new complicated situation: but maybe this gentleman is just what he needs.
