Summary
Vader had always thought the other half of his soul would be either powerful, uniquely beautiful, or talented in some form other than violence. A complementary match. Instead, his soul mate is a clone. A face mass-produced in a factory to die on the battlefield. Not even considered sentient by the republic they served. A clone was no true match for Vader, but for the little slave boy who grew up belonging to everyone but himself, longing for the stars in a way that hurt. A clone made perfect sense.
Rex always knew he was going to be a disappointment to whatever Nat-born the universe had deemed his other half. He hadn’t hoped for much. He couldn’t afford to. But sometimes at night he would dream of peace and hands not calloused by the hilt of a blaster.
Darth Vader wasn't part of the plan. The man who has slaughtered his brothers and been the cause of unimaginable misery and pain. A kriffing sith was his soul mate, a being who might actually be the living personification of death. It made a twisted kind of sense for a clone raised to kill. He wondered what that said about himself.

Summary
On the one hand, ‘Ben’ was the best babysitter Anakin had ever hired. He worked for free, was the main thing. But Anakin’s kids actually liked him. They ended the day with all the same limbs they’d started with. Anakin came home from work to four children doing their homework and (some sort of) dinner on the table. ‘Ben’ even made Anakin’s lunch every day. Oh, and he was really, truly, incredibly attractive. (Which shouldn’t matter. But it did, a little bit.)
On the other hand, neither he nor Anakin knew his real name, who he was, what he did for a living, if he already had a family waiting for him at home, or where ‘home’ even was. So that was a bit of a wrinkle.
Or, Obi-Wan has amnesia (of a fashion). It’s an Overboard AU.

● the CSS code for diacritics to render properly, e.g.: “ầ” & “ồ” (with diacritics not superimposed), or “ị” (with underdot directly beneath, not kerned to the left), without breaking words such as “gầu” or “vịt” (using a monotype font for these letters would create gaps to each side of the ầ or the ị). Kote tipped his head and just stared into Rex’s eyes endlessly, the way he did when people asked him questions that made him want to swallow them whole with their own ignorance.
“No way of knowing without intrusive measures,” he determined.
“We gotta ask one,” Bly translated for Rex.
