He reels in his tone before he goes on, and these words physically hurt to say. “I need your help. Surely an avatar of the Tyrant has ways to force subservience. He cannot leave. We can’t let him.”
Gortash appears lost in his own thoughts, glaring at his desk.
Finally, he says, “Bane favors subjugation through tyranny, but the most powerful pacts are those into which the slave enters willingly and whole-heartedly. Thankfully, we know how to put our dear Faust into a position to agree to just about anything, don’t we?”
