    It was enough to say that Natsume Souseki was a respected man. After all, he had been the one to start his two pupils on the paths which led to where they were now- one the leader of a benevolent detective agency comprised of misfits (talented ones, though- he gave credit where credit was due), and the other the boss of the Port Mafia, experts of navigating Yokohama’s underground and slinking into the darkest alleyways on the darkest nights to deliver retribution to all who trespassed on their turf (one might call them unlikely avenging angels). He had been the one to ensure peace in the city before he retired, weary of the rough and tumble lifestyle he had been living his entire life and safe in the knowledge that he would no longer dirty his hands with affairs that his two pupils could (hopefully) solve on their own.

    He was also the one who was too nosy for his own good.
