Summary
The war had ended, life went on.
Severus, fully committed to a quiet life away from the remnants of war and the enemies he had made, finds his fragile peace threatened by the return of a man he had refused to grieve, refused to allow himself to think about. He didn't want to remember the freezing cold night in Forbidden Forest, the man's pathetic attempt at a rescue mission. He didn't want to think about the spiral he fell into in the following days. He certainly did not want to remember his body against his own. Given the chance, he would focused on his private potion brewing but his name was now bad business and work was growing thin.
