Summary
Lan Zhan nods. “Who should I make it out to?” he asks.
“Wei Wuxian,” Jin Ling says.
Lan Zhan drops his pen. “Who?” he croaks.
Ouyang Zizhen lets out a soft gasp beside him. “Oh fuck, it’s happening.”
“Wei Wuxian,” Jin Ling says slowly. This doesn’t look like someone who thinks sixteen years is too long to fix a misunderstanding. Jin Ling is going to get his dajiu a husband today. “My dajiu really liked your new album. There are a lot of details in your songs that feel very personal to him.”
(Or, Jin Ling schemes to reunite his dajiu with his dajiu's high school sweetheart.)

Summary
A series of metas about why Wei Wuxian isn’t, in fact, overly self-sacrificial* or an idiot — because being willing to put oneself in necessary danger to protect others isn’t the same as always throwing yourself in front of the sword (or the Wen iron — we’ll analyse that). Covering:
1. The reason behind Wei Wuxian’s actions which put him in danger, and why they don’t stem from a place of insecurity;
2. Wei Wuxian’s thought process in a situation where others are in danger, and how this alongside his intelligence and capability allows him to act in his preferred manner in such a situation; and,
3. How Wei Wuxian doesn’t reject help, and how he doesn’t consider himself as unworthy of it.
*Here referring to someone who consistently puts themselves in grave danger to help others, often as a first instinct, which often comes from a place of low self-worth and/or low self-esteem.

Summary
His father says he got it from his mother.
His mother says “nonsense, that’s from your father’s side”. She also says “whoever disagrees is a fool” and “that applies to the man I married”.
The fact that Wei Wuxian takes to people easily is one out of many his parents love arguing about – but the way his parents argue, which is nothing like other people. They do it with a suspicious lack of heat, balanced by an equally suspicious abundance of lengthy looks (his father’s) and teasing smiles (his mother’s). They rarely seem to care what the argument is about. They do seem to enjoy the arguing very much.
Wei Wuxian is thirteen, and in the newfound wisdom of his years, he finds there’s a growing number of unfortunate facts about adults, especially parents, he’d rather go back to not knowing. Although he does, as a matter of fact, agree with them he takes to people easily.
Until he comes home one late afternoon, and finds his father with a grey-eyed stranger in long black and red robes.

Summary
"And most importantly, radish," Wei Ying pointed at A-Yuan's nose close enough that A-Yuan's eyes went slightly crisscross, "if you feel like it's too much or you don't want to do this anymore, it is totally fine to just come back, okay?" He smiled reassuringly, tapping the small nose.
"Mhm!" A-Yuan nodded again, his head tipping forward so far to be almost considered a bow.
"Great!" Wei Ying clapped his hands together. They checked one last time if A-Yuan had everything he needed, knew the items he should get and what to do in an emergency.
Stepping out the door, Wei Ying felt like this was how a parent ought to feel. Letting go of their child slowly, letting them make their own experiences and growing independent.
He was not ready for that yet.
--
A-Yuan is tasked with his very first errand on his own but Wei Ying can't let go, so he follows his son and watches how he got his father a husband, as a treat.
