Loki’s throat felt dry, his thoughts tangling into knots. For the first time, he had no clever remark, no witty comeback to mask his feelings. He could only stare at Adam, who looked back at him with that same calm, open gaze, as if daring Loki to see himself the way Adam did.
For once, Loki found himself utterly speechless.
