Summary
By all accounts, their mission on the planet had been successfully completed. They attended the meeting, Aventurine successfully convinced the city council (the planet’s only civilization lived in said city,) that dealings with the IPC would benefit them both, and Veritas Ratio..well, Ratio, for all intents and purposes, seemed to go wherever he pleased. As of late, that seemed to be wherever Aventurine went.
Neither of them anticipated how horribly wrong things could go in just a couple hours.

Summary
Veritas remembers the day he met Aventurine; he was quieter then. Flamboyant as ever but hesitant to push it too far, like if he crossed whatever line he'd drawn in his head, the world might come crashing down around him.
At first, all he'd felt for the man had been disdain, but over time, that feeling had twisted into something else he couldn't quite put into words. It's embarrassing that it takes the other man getting allegedly injured on some random planet all alone for Veritas to realize that maybe what he feels for his colleague isn't just going to go away.
