I get such secondhand embarrassment sometimes by the things I read in this subreddit. Most notably: the use of the word “botched” when it comes to Yuuri and Sochi. I think I may be driven to commit homicide if I see yet another person talk about last night’s livestream “scandal” with some throwaway comment like “oh, no wonder Yuuri got trashed at the banquet, he’d just completely botched his chance to impress Viktor”. Listen here, you shriveled rutabagas!!! YUURI DIDN’T ‘BOTCH’ ANYTHING, NOT THEN AND NOT EVER!!
I’m sorry to have to bring root vegetables into this, but have these people just been ignoring all of Viktor’s interviews these last 3 years?!

Yuri's fake retching only lasted a few seconds because Mila gripped his shoulder to shake him.
“Yura, shut up for a second already and look!”
She angled his face towards Makka, so Yuuri reached a hand out to emphasize the puppy's collar.
“When you saw her last night, Makka weighed her usual 45 pounds,” he calmly explained. “But if I had to guess, she currently weighs around 8. That doesn’t just happen without some kind of intervention, Yura.”
“Plus, if you look carefully,” he went on, looking down into his lap at his husband (who was hugging one of his thighs like it was a stuffed animal), “well, you’d have to admit Vitya looks a little different than usual.”

Stricken with sadness around Viktor’s grief at not being able to skate with Makkachin one last time before her imminent death, Yuuri turns to Hasetsu’s local witch in desperation. With the age regression spell that she grants, Viktor gets to inhabit his nimble teenage body, while Makka gets to experience being a puppy again. And the Katsuki-Nikiforovs are able to spend a final perfect day with their beloved poodle. -

Viktor was crying out by this point and Yuuri noted how he’d pressed his face into the towel. He smirked; that wouldn’t do. He gave the base of Viktor’s ponytail a firm tug at the same time that he landed the next blow.

Irritated by those insisting Yuuri shouldn’t have won, Viktor conducts a SFW defense of his husband via livestream while Yuuri is in the air. When it comes to critiques of his own body, however, Viktor takes a more explicit approach: jumping rope to a NSFW song, positioning his camera for an optimum view of his ass.If said stream happens to flip Yuuri’s possessive switch, then that’s just a bonus for their reunion sex.

But after a horrible start to a convention weekend, he panics and backs out at the last second to meet his idol. Normally this would be fine, except Yuuri discovers too late that there's a little Viktor related secret inside the con vlog his best friend filmed over the course of the weekend for him...
It's fine, he thinks. Embarrassing, but not the end of the world. And it's not like Viktor himself will ever see the con vlog, so why worry?
(Except for when one fateful, lonely night, Viktor does.)

Summary
Sometimes Yuki wonders if there’s something living inside his ears. Or head. (Some bugs can be too big, after all.) He’s old enough to know that can’t be the case, but there’s a ringing that never seems to go away, so he keeps the thought around anyway—by the wooden pillar, under the small jade vase.
Yuki doesn’t know if he prefers it to the quiet. They’re just about the same, he thinks. It’s still a little hard to breathe.
Maybe that's why he likes these. When Haru knocks his gentle knocks, and calls out his name just as much, it’s all he hears. Nothing laced with a strange something—just the low evenness in Haru’s voice, just Yuki’s pulse fluttering in his chest.
