Aight, so this story basically started as a character study; the first few chapters are just events from the game--basic prose with some pretty words--and even though this gave me a better understanding of the characters and I enjoy re-reading it, I just got tired of writing.
However, my google doc "In the Key of V" is a bustling 97 pages with several different one shots, random unfinished ideas, and loads of bull-fuckery. It seems a piss awful shame to just leave 'em there sittin' and collecting dust.
So, for anyone who wants some angsty/cute one-shots that may or may not ever be finished (either just to read or for inspiration for idea starters or smth), then le voilà. This story is now just gonna be my "idea dump". Feel free to dig in the tags to see what about. Btw I'm posting them exactly as they are in the google doc, no edits. I'll *star* chapter names to indicate a finished story/shot.
I also have random (related) fun facts and deep dives in my notes, so there's that. <3

“I see the burden you carry,” Henry whispered, leaning down so his breath ghosted over Voyta’s lips. “The pain, the loss,” he continued, eyes flickering around the painter’s face as his breath hitched. “the guilt, the longing,” his thumb traced over Voyta’s bottom lip, still wet. “It never leaves, doesn’t it?”
Voyta’s shoulders quivered. “Please—I prayed. I prayed for it to leave.”
At the confession, Henry dragged him closer. “Let me take it away.” Voyta’s eyes widened at the words. Henry’s own heart thrashed wildly against his ribs. “Pour it all in me,” he breathed, leaning in for another kiss. “Cleanse yourself in me.”

His blue eyes glide slowly over the shield attached to the soldier’s swaying body, along the painted edges of Sir Radzig’s crest, and Hans wonders what he’s thinking, how he thinks in the first place.
“Lord have mercy on his soul,” Hanush mutters, the back of his gloved hand pressed firm to clinched lips.
No, Lord have mercy on mine.
(Or, a killer hunts soldiers in Skalitz colors and secrets are spilled quicker than the blood gathering in the streets.)
