Even when one endures, he who survives is not the one who entered. But even in the bleakness of the apocalypse, there is still beautiful light to be seen. You just need to find her.
Okay, less flowery summary: this is a story told through journal entries, notes, and POV interludes. It is told over several years of time. The story starts with thirteen year old Dante(OC) and his family. The story ends with eighteen year old Dante and seventeen year old Alpha. Dante's life in the early parts is around as bad as Lucia/Luna's childhood. But! But see that fluff tag? Yeah, there is angst, but it isn't all angst.
