Mu Qing was going to die.
Now, Mu Qing may be a massive virgin with almost 900 years of celibacy to drag around with him as proof but he wasn’t blind to the attractiness and allure that man kind could conjure. He’d just spent the vast majority of his life trying his hardest to ignore it. Which had been somewhat difficult for a while, a fact that he would rather die than reveal, but as time went on it became easier. The control he had over his soul and body so powerful he’d managed to completely remove himself from his wants and needs. But now that control seemed to be crumbling, the very thing securing his position in heaven and as God of the Southwest was splintering beneath his feet.
And it was all Feng Xins fucking fault.

Summary
Something was wrong in the South: the followers of General Xuan Zhen and General Nan Yang were fighting.
At first blush, Mu Qing knew, this was nothing new. The two groups had enjoyed a spirited rivalry ever since their gods ascended. Like the generals themselves, their believers had always bickered and competed and occasionally come to blows. But, also like the generals, even when they didn’t get along, the two factions had historically been able to coexist without serious bloodshed. Lately, however, something had shifted. The usual scrapping between Xuan Zhen and Nan Yang followers had escalated into all-out war, and the two generals had so far been unable to stop it.
Mu Qing and Feng Xin get married to quell conflict between their believers. It's a purely political marriage between friends, so it will definitely solve their problem without causing any new problems.
