“Well, it’s been an honour finally getting’ to meetcha,” Remmick said as he turned away, sauntering down the hallway towards the club.
“I’m playin’ here tomorrow!” Sammie blurted out. Remmick stopped dead in his tracks. “Ya know, just in case, you were interested in…” Sammie trailed off, but Remmick had already turned to look back. Before, Remmick’s smile had been polite, meek, just a subtle curve of the lip. Now though, his teeth were bared, grinning with unrestrained glee. With the light of the stage reflected on his face, his eyes seemed to glow like two smouldering embers.
“You can count on me bein’ here, Sammie.”

She quickly adds, “I'll see you soon, I love you.”
Louis hears Lestat's smile through the phone. “I love you more. Je t'aime plus que tout au monde. Je passerai chaque seconde à attendre ton retour.”
“You are so fucking dramatic.” Louis rolls her eyes and hangs up before Lestat can argue but her smile is wide when she slips her phone back in her pocket.
