Summary
Simon Riley is a renowned monster hunter, a lone expert forged by years in the wilds. He knows monsters, how they move, how they kill, and how they think.

Enter John MacTavish, talented, sharp-eyed, and infuriatingly talkative. Simon can’t deny the man’s skill, but his cocky mouth and inability to stay quiet ignite tension that threatens to boil over.
Yet with the change these monsters are going through, a change happens between Simon and John, both of them having no choice but to work closely together, unveiling secrets about the other and the pasts that haunt them.Slowburn, enemies to lovers. <3 <3

Summary
Being alone at the cottage is not unnerving, just… unfamiliar.
At least, that’s what Johnny tells himself.
And it’s what he repeats to himself as while he continues to stare out the window, polishing off the last of his whisky, his eyes catch strange movement deeper into the forest. Something shrouded in shadow, moving in a way that’s far too slow to be any of the prey animals that are most common in the woods.
Something that doesn’t even catch the light of the moon.
Something big.
OR: When Johnny moves out to the coast to fix up his grandmother's old cottage to sell, he isn't expecting to fall in love with the place—or the mysterious, fluffy guardian of the surrounding forest.

Summary
"All stories come from some'ere. They hold a fraction o' truth. The Ghost may no' be real. But after hearing all the stories, be'er t' air on the side o' caution, aye? So as no' t' get caught unawares by a giant monster in the middle o' the moor."
That made sense. The stories of monsters in the woods, over the moors, or in the lochs may be just to scare children and give the adults something to pass the time. But his father was right, better to assume it is real, and be respectful of it. After all, if there was such a thing as a giant beast covered in fur, that howls in the night and hunts over the land, capable of tearing animals to pieces and leave gouges in hard wood, John imagined it wouldn't appreciate being told it's just a folktale.
