Summary
“You told me once… You asked me if this was the day you had to kill me. Remember that?”
“City of Beasts. Under that well. You’d been charmed. That’s what’s happening now, isn’t it Caleb? Another charm spell to beat out of you.”

Summary
Before they joined the Mighty Nein, a goblin and a wizard met in a prison cell. Fate is strange, sometimes.
"It is hard, sometimes, to always want to live, is the current thought of Nott the Brave as she sits in her cell and waits for her moment. It is hard to want to keep on living as her monstrous, thieving self. It is hard to find joy in the little trinkets when they are held in her green hands, in the smiles that bare yellow fangs, in the speed of her clawed feet. It is hard to want to live like this.It is hardest to think of Luc and Yeza, of what they would think if they saw her now. Would Luc cry? Would he run? Would he look into her eyes and see the monsters that kidnapped him only months ago?
Probably."

Summary
Caleb has a plethora of uses for polymorph outside of combat. Sometimes he uses it to avoid things he can’t face; sometimes he uses it to face things he can’t avoid; and sometimes, just sometimes, he uses it to go a little apeshit.
Or, five times Caleb used polymorph to get around his problems, and one time he used it to solve them.

Summary
Laying prone there on the cot, feeble as a new kitten, he had looked so innocent. The ironic part of it was that he was. Really. Really genuinely that innocent. They’d brought him into the caravan for a number of reasons, but Gustav’s soft heart was the biggest of them all. It was Demond who’d argued initially for wariness, even as he’d helped Bo to haul the former corpse to the caravan; the scars on Desmond’s face were testament enough to the veracity of his apprehensions and Gustav had learned, over the years, to pay attention to them when he saw fit to speak up. Desmond was no paranoid, just a realist. More of one than Gustav had ever been, even if he wasn’t quite the optimistic fool anymore that he’d once been. It was why they made such good partners in the carnival.
“He’s your project then, Gustav," Desmond had said. "If you’re so dead set. I’m not…against it. But I’ll have none of it.”
And so, Empty had become MT had become Mollymauk Tealeaf, and that had been the end of it.
Until recently.
