Summary
After the main battle of Sonic 2 Robotnik is deeply wounded in body and mind and plagued by flashbacks and panic attacks. It's a miracle that he even survived the crash from the giant Robot he built with the power of the Master Emerald. His loyal subordinate Aban Stone (with a hidden crush) tries his best to uplift him and care for him as they spent their days in their new hideout.
But during their time together in that tiny new base everything becomes extremely complicated. Suddenly all those new emotions and insecurities are taking over the Doctor's headspace and are overwhelming him.

This is a follow-up to my fiction "Close enough?" Quick summary in these notes!
Summary to this fiction: After taking their first steps the evening before the two touch-starved men can't hold on any longer and get overwhelmed by their feelings ;) (also Serizawa is curious)
Summary „Close enough?“: Serizawa and Reigen have been in a relationship for over a year but they didn’t get any further than a few occasional kisses and hugs. On one of their dinner dates at Serizawa’s place Serizawa builds up the courage to ask Reigen to stay over night and tells him he wants more out of this. As it turns out Reigen had just been waiting for Serizawa to make a move since he is the one who is less experienced. They kiss and cuddle and things even get a bit hot but they decide to leave it at cuddling and getting their blood rush fast for that evening.

The voices, loud and animated, grate against his suddenly pounding head. Based on the tone and the style of speaking, he would have two children and an adult, but instead... The man feels his lips part in a mixture of surprise and shock when he comes face to face with three - beings - which are hard to categorize. They are only humanoid in form; about chest height, and covered in such brightly colored fur that spots dance in front of his tired eyes.Something clicks in the man's addled mind; shock and the sense of surreality forgotten entirely when something shifts through his mess of thoughts to the forefront.
"You...mean me." He gestures vaguely at himself; at this empty vessel he has become. Only that now, it is filling with something - hope. He repeats the gesture with more firmness when he only earns confused looks, tapping at his chest while he demands, no, pleads, "You know me?"AU where the flushing of the Crab leads to Stone losing his memories, and forming an unlikely friendship with the Wachowskis are staying at the same hospital.
