The thrill is in the hunt, not the kill.
This is a story about a "boy" getting forcefemmed from afar by a gay plant who chases "him" across space as "he" truck-bunnies "his" way from road trip companion to road trip companion.

what an absolute kinkfest!!! some of it grew on me (the scarousal of imagined pain turning into real pain turning into veritable maiming as you’re physically and mentally torn apart… was fun!), some of it not so much (having worked in environments that breed some of the worst smells you could imagine doesn’t coax well with olfactory descriptions awash with words like “fetid” and… eugh, yeah, one word is enough) but it was engaging, for good or ill, the whole way through. would love to see how it ends - even if the hunt is more than the kill, seeing holly *beg* to be owned by their mistress after spending so long running from her inevitable destiny would be divine! and also a neat reference to Soul Reaver 2 now that I think about it…

Summary
The automated supply vessel did not have a name, but the residents of Natter Research Station had called it Argos for as long as Minerva could remember. In an old Terran story, Argos was a dog abandoned by its owner during his long journey as the main character of an adventure. When he returned, the dog was at the end of its years and emaciated, barely alive, but it still was overjoyed to see him. Yet he was in disguise and could not greet the animal.
Lo and I have been ruminating on the idea of a cotyledon story for a long time. Expect it to be a little darker than our usual rampant horny thoughts—if you want something more porny, Sol is Short for Solace is probably a better option.

almost half a million words worth of an emotionless wreck being taught how to feel. very slice of lifey (at least 20,000 of those words are dedicated to eating scenes), but doesn't skimp out on the horror aspect (spoilers spoilers main boy joshua is wicked fucked up), but it comes (multiple times! the smut is *muah*) to a happy ending that is just so, so romantic. some of the CWs were pretty out there (i'm not the biggest fan of ageplay, or... whatever cumming from the sensation of eating is) but they're easily skippable and the more tame stuff (EVERYONE IS GAY!! WITH BIG GAY DICKS!!!) is very enjoyable :3

wonderfully sweet slow burn. and actual character development that you can’t see coming from a light year away? both the floret AND the affini become completely different characters by the end of the story, and it’s written so, so beautifully. the smut is more interpretive than literally descriptive, and the kinks are right proper kinky: painplay, bdsm, and lots of blood! but it remains wholesome, even with the horror undertones (paranoid episodes are depicted so gut-wrenchingly real) and the self-referential ethical quandaries of how the affini do what they do (which i love!!). all in all, im sad to see these characters go, which is my mind telling me that i loved every moment spent with them… so read this fic!!! and enjoy the moments, just as i did 🥰

i’ll come back to this one. twenty chapters in and it just feels like a transcript of the game with some flavour text thrown in, but there’s SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!! twin intelligent alien fishboys making a more engaging hunt out of you by playing with their food at every opportunity until they make a genuine connection with you?? that is awesome. but… the writing itself does leave a lot to be desired - it’s not bad, just amateurish. doesn’t really dig into you and hold on like a more seasoned writer can. and being the impatient bitch i am, I summarily dropped it.
