George hadn’t heard from Clay in many years, his last letter lay on George’s nightstand, worn and memorized down to the swirls of Clay’s clumsy signature at the bottom. He had left many years ago, leaving nothing but memories of a blonde boy with endless determination and sweet laughter that had blurred as the years passed by.

ford can’t stop thinking about old yeller that night, staring up at the glow-in-the-dark stars on their ceiling. he couldn’t do it, he thinks. he couldn’t ever shoot his own dog, no matter what.
“well,” stanley says pragmatically the next morning, pretending like he doesn’t care as much as ford knows he does, “since he was sufferin’ and all, it was really better for him to be dead, wasn’t it? not much point in being alive if your whole life is terrible and you’re a danger to everybody you ever loved.”
something cold and sharp takes up residence in ford’s stomach. he doesn’t like hearing stanley say stuff like that. he doesn’t like it at all.
“i wouldn’t do it,” ford insists. “no matter what, i wouldn’t. there’s always another way.”
“heh. yeah, i bet you’d find another way, brainiac,” stanley teases, reaching over to muss ford’s hair. ford swats him away. stanley can make fun all he wants—ford still spends all night thinking about cures for rabies.

Summary
After the death of his wife, Stan's left to pick up the pieces and carry on. Two years after her death, he and his daughter are doing all right. His gig as a night time radio host is enjoyable and he gets to read bedtime stories to his little girl on the air. How cool is that? When a stray dog shows up on his property nearly frozen and starving to death, he takes it in until it is well. Only there is something very odd about this dog.
Ford's life can't get any worse. He's let a dream demon con him into building a portal that could destroy this dimension, driven off his best friend, alienated himself from his family, and been cursed by an angry ghost. He's cold, starving, and at the end of his rope. Then he stumbles into the last person he thought he'd ever see again-his twin.
This is the sequel to Calendar Pages.

Logan looked back down at his book, pretending to read, trying to ignore Wade’s red-hot, irritated gaze burning a hole in his chest.
“It’s fucking February twelfth. February–fucking–twelfth!”
“And?”
Wade was truly a relentless creature, scoffing at Logan and turning on his heel, winding himself in a little circle of rage.
“And? I gave you six whole weeks to enjoy me in my most transactional form and you haven’t even looked at what you’re missing out on. Not to mention, I spent an entire seven minutes putting that bitch together for you. I even had to venture into Al’s drawer of horrors for the pipe cleaner and not even god himself could have paid me enough to do that willingly on any other occasion.”
(Wade gave Logan a set of coupons for Christmas set to expire on Valentine's Day. Logan waits until that day to use them all at once. Cue tooth-rotting fluff. And sex, of course.)
