Summary
Macaque stood there in disbelief as everyone started to cheer and hug each other. In all honesty he never expected the kid to do it, to finish off LBD. But well, first time for everything.
He took a moment to watch them jump around before gathering himself off the ground. With the job done he had no need to be there anymore, planning to leave the excited group silently as he limped away towards the opening of the cave they found her in.
It would’ve been a success too, if it wasn’t for a certain scholar in round glasses.

Bruce feels his heart lurch in his chest. The ground seems very, very far away, “Dick."
“Bruce,” Dick replies easily, smiling something sad and faint, “Don't be scared. Falling is half the fun.”

When she realizes he’s not immediately going to take it, she says, “I suppose I can’t make you,” and shrugs, calmly.
“It’s dirty water,” He points out, and wrinkles his nose, “I’m not sure how clean you can get with it.”
