It’s been a too long of a short while since our detectives have seen eachother..
Hi everyone! I am relatively new to the Strike fandom (since the LW television series aired in the UK back in August 2020) and this is my first time ever writing a fic! I started reading your Strike works on ao3 in October and I’ve been debating whether or not I should have a go at it myself as I have so many random prompts in my head! So here it goes!

Maura took a deep breath as she rested her head against his shoulder and nodded. She sometimes still needed to remind herself that he actually listened to her. That this was fine. “You are cold”, Eyk said after a while, returning to a more joking tone, “Maybe we should head inside before you die.”

May 1900. After half a year in New York, Maura and Eyk have settled into their relationship quite well. But there is still the pyramid that needs to be returned to the temple it was stolen from, and they both take on the long journey. A journey which will not only allow them to leave the past behind, but will define the course of their shared future.
