Summary
Gerard is content with ghosting through college the same way he did through high school. Really, he’s fine with it, he tells himself— he’s used to the loneliness. The isolation. It’s safe. Who needs fun and romance and bright, loud groups of friends? That’s not a world that he’s ever fit into. It’s not a world that he’s ever even been invited into.
The cracks in his façade begin to show when he meets Frank.
On: loneliness, mutual pining, the chaotic re-imagining of self that comes with the first year of college, and Frank and Gerard working through their unique mental hellscapes in the effort to let themselves be loved.
