You should come home, he thinks. His fingers toy with the end of the knitted blanket covering the bed, the yarn soft and worn. His eyes dart around the room again; no tea-stained mug perched precariously on the edge of the desk, no discarded sweater slung over the chair. No sign of life, except for the little cactus on the desk. It’s the same every time he checks on the tether, blatantly disregarding the armed guards flanking the doors; no one has ever been able to keep him out of anything. And he’ll keep coming back, but it’s starting to feel like a futile effort. It doesn’t look like Jamie has been home in weeks. He hopes that wherever they're sending him to, they are at least feeding him well.

He hated being vulnerable. He didn’t know how to trust people. The easiest way around it was to avoid the problem altogether; when Chamber tied him up or hit him or just kept going until the harsh stimulation and relentless escalation messed him up so badly he couldn’t tell up from down—that felt safe, it felt good, that way he didn’t have the capacity to feel embarrassed about the way he moaned or how Chamber made him feel or anything at all.
aka: Yoru finds it difficult to let loose unless Chamber makes him. Chamber wants him to feel good without being out of it.
