Summary
While Charlie is away, Nick checks out some books on Greek myths. He knows he's read a few for school and stuff, but it would be nice to understand a little more of what Charlie's talking about when it comes to literature. He enjoys the ones about the heroes and the cool monsters, like Heracles and Perseus. In the middle of the ones about heroes, there's a story about a poet. Nick wonders why it's there with all the demigods and monster slaying, but continues gamely.
He finds himself relating to Orpheus, falling in love so hard and so fast. He'd write Charlie poetry and songs if he had any talent at it.(Romantic poetry is definitely a no go, but he is a dab hand at a limerick.)

Summary
Charlie taps furiously at the keyboard, the typewriter clacking along with the four others in the small room. He squints to listen through the large headphones to the crackling transmission coming through the line. The decoding team he's part of all have grim looks on their faces as they furiously translate and transcribe the messages coming in from the navy ships.
The battle had been bad. Distant plumes of smoke visible even in the small town where they've been posted. Charlie listens, trying not to get lost in his own worries, to just focus on the task at hand. The transmission crackles, then switches to another line.
"-Outpost this is Lieutenant Nelson aboard the SS Higgs, location-"
Charlie freezes, hunched over his keyboard.
