Summary
Clarke feels like she’s underwater, breathing in glass. The air feels syrupy, but raw against her throat, and she has to squint if she looks at the sky for too long. The yellow-blue plants of this planet burn her skin if she touches them for too long. It’s hard to get up after she’s been sitting down for more than a few minutes, and it feels like something is pressing down on her shoulders every time she takes a breath.
It didn’t take long for Clarke to realise that something was wrong. No one else did, but she doesn’t expect them to because what's wrong isn't the planet, it's her.

“You’re really in love with me?” Clarke asks, catching him so off guard he trips on a stone and just barely manages to save his balance, a flustered yeah escaping his lips. Hands in the pockets of his jackets, he shrugs.
“Well, fuck me”, she says with her hand over her eyes. She looks desperate, like she has no idea what to do, and Bellamy’s pretty sure it’s not the fucking part she’s desperate about. Or hell, maybe it is, he can’t know.
“I can if you'd like”, he only half-jokes.

Everyone looks up when the doors to the bar slam open, and in runs a spooked Murphy— and Murphy is never spooked. Waving away the questions of his friends, he turns to Miller and demands, "Turn on the news."
"What, why?"
"Just do it!" There's an edge of desperation, of hysteria to his words, and without another word, Miller does as instructed. Bellamy stands up to take a closer look at the screen.
The whole world comes crashing down around him.
