Summary
“Buck,” Eddie says, a small smile curving at the edge of his mouth, “wanna get married? For our honeymoon, we’ll scam your parents out of some money and make Ravi’s accountant do our taxes.”
“Well,” Buck says drily, “that sounds like an offer I can’t refuse.”
“I’m sorry,” Eddie says, in his very best – meaning very bad – impression of Buck when he gets his hands on a clipboard. “What was that?”
“Yes, Eddie,” Buck says, putting on an air of suffering despite the butterflies making themselves at home in his stomach. Man, whoever Eddie ends up proposing to for realsies is gonna be so lucky. “I’ll marry you.”
or: buck is invited to a family reunion and realises that there's a good chunk of money waiting for him. there’s one issue, though: he has to be married to claim it, and right now, he’s painfully single. it’s a good thing he has such a great best friend in eddie, right?

Summary
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I am. Fuck. I am freaking out,” he agrees, lifting his head to look at Buck helplessly. “You’re in my lap.”
“I’m so extremely aware of that. You’re not wearing any pants,” Buck adds.
A smile tugs at the corner of Eddie’s mouth. “I am also very aware of that.”
Or, another take on what happened after the couch scene. Eddie *wants*. They're both brave about it.

Summary
How long have you been in love with her?
Is sitting in the air as they laugh, turning to each other like they’ve done something, and dropping the subject entirely in favor of grilling Grant on his upcoming wedding.
How long have you been in love with her?
Is sitting in the air as he blindly grabs for his beer, dragging it to his mouth and downing what’s left in the bottle in one desperate gulp.
How long have you been in love with her?
Is rewording itself, reworking itself, translating itself until it fits;
How long have you been in love with him?
--
Or, Eddie's in El Paso and suddenly everything makes sense.

Summary
May glances up at him, raising an eyebrow. “Yes?”
He drops the fork, leans back in the booth, and stares at her—can feel how wide his eyes are, how tense his jaw is; the thrum of anxiety racing through his limbs and tip-tapping and shaking every surface he’s touching. He can’t stop it, though. He can’t stop it because—
He leans forward, grabbing the fork and spearing through a particularly fluffy glob of scrambled egg. “Eddie kissed me last night,” he says, quietly, carefully—it feels a bit like it’s being pulled from him, like if he doesn’t say it right here, right now, he might actually explode, but he doesn’t know how to say it, because it doesn’t make sense.
It doesn’t make sense.
And this--May’s the only one who can help him make it make sense.
--
Or Buck highjacks his and May's weekly breakfast.

Summary
Karen sits on the coffee table across from him, leaning in and placing a steady weight on his knees.
Above them, he hears, “Did something happen to Buck? Should we call Maddie?”
Eddie chokes, sitting upright, and looking over his shoulder at Hen, “No,” he says, voice gravelly. “Do not call Maddie.”
“Okay,” Hen says, frowning. “Why?”
He groans, turning back around and burying his face in his hands again. “Because Bucks probably already told her and there’s no doubt I’ve jumped to the top of her to be killed list.” He looks up. “Don’t tell me she doesn’t have a to be killed list, because I guarantee she does now.”
“Okay. What’s going on?”
He takes a deep breath, shaking his head. “I kissed Buck.”
