“Alright,” Jim said to his crew, as he bolted the door shut from any more unwanted visitors. “True love’s kiss was a bust. What’s our next idea?” He said, beginning to pace.
“Maybe we shouldn't throw out the whole idea.'' McCoy pondered.
“Excuse me?” Jim questioned him, stopping dead in his tracks.
“Well I’m just thinkin’, maybe if the princess’s true love isn’t the prince, maybe it’s someone else. Maybe, I don’t know, a knight or something?” He continued, giving Jim a pointed look at this last thought.

"Jim.” Spock’s voice pierced the silence, Jim couldn’t resist turning around.
Spock already had his pants on, and was holding the purple suit’s black button-up undershirt. For the billionth time, Jim thought Spock was the most beautiful creature in the universe.
“Yes?”
Spock hesitated, honest to god, hesitated. He wasn’t just thinking about what or how to say it. He knew and was hesitating because of it.
“I have a request.” He said, putting on the undershirt. Jim wanted to take it off again.
“Anything, Spock.”
“If my counterpart makes any… moves on you, of the romantic or sexual nature, I ask that you refuse him.”
Okay. Right. Wow.
Jim blinked at Spock.

It made Jim forget how to breathe, and maybe that was a good thing. "Playing it safe; as you would say, Jim" Spock answered him, a hand rising upon its own accord and conforming to the shape of Jim’s cheek.
