Summary
Dick wakes up, probes his side. Under the lucid heaviness of sleep, he’d dreamt his ribs gone, wound sticky. In his dream, Jason’s fingers had touched a place in his chest cavity that will never be touched again. He’d taken the knife– a jagged hunting blade– and sliced Dick from pelvis to throat. Gooey with blood, he had dipped his fingers into Dick’s stomach and started to rip at the fine tissue around his organs. Dick had gasped wetly as his lungs were probed, his liver given a squeeze.
“Mon petit aile,” Jason whispered as he unspooled Dick’s intestines, but it was a Jason who had been allowed to grow older. A Jason who loomed over Dick with the strength of a grown man.
In the dark of his bedroom, Dick does not curl up, swell and cry, but instead– he desperately, despairingly, achingly wishes for Jason to touch him again. To make him hurt, like he’s always made Dick hurt. Not just his ribs but his cheek, his hand, his soft insides.
To take everything that’s owed to him.
This is Dick Grayson: a desperate animal chasing after dead boys that remind him of his mother. He sinks his teeth into skin and calls it love; he has never known how to love any other way.

Jason stares. The rooftop drops another ten degrees. Dick wants to spoon up all the pieces of his soul that just drooled out of him and shove them back in. He wants to bury his head into his own hands and suffocate. He wants his heart to stop aching.
Jason opens his mouth. "I'd fuckin’ toss it if it was some random dead alpha’s baby. That’s why I can’t make a decision— because it is yours. And it’s different knowin’ that it's yours.”
A series of vignettes, of sorts. Dick Grayson deals with the weight and guilt of getting Jason Todd pregnant.
