When Frank turns to look at him, Gerard makes sure that he’s already looking back. He gets to watch in real time as Frank’s pupils blow wide, his breathing going a little slow and ragged as his eyes make the very obvious journey down Gerard’s body, clinging to all the best parts — the hollow dip of his throat, the places where the leather of his jacket is clinging tightly to his biceps, the almost cinched pull of the jacket tight around his waist — and then lingering a little overlong at the bulge of Gerard’s dick between his legs. The sun is setting on their final night in Palermo and Calum is grinning down at him, big and bright, clear affection written into his gaze. He’s gone somewhat tipsy from the wine they’d had at dinner, his mouth stained dark and his hair flopping down into his eyes. He leans forward and touches the curve of Cal’s bottom lip, right there on the cobblestoned street for anyone to see. His eyes snag and hold on Cal’s mouth, pupils going fatter and fatter, eating up all that blue as he starts to lean forward, mouth parting on an exhale. His neighbor who, for better or for worse, sings at the top of his lungs whenever he’s in a good mood and dances around his kitchen every morning before 6am.
At first, the endless parade of pop hits annoy him, but after a time, it begins to chase away some of that loneliness. The fact that it devolves into a petty back and forth war on who has a better taste in music is neither here nor there. Now, if only Eddie could manage to actually meet the guy...
