Perhaps it’s a side effect of surviving a tornado at the tender age of nine, perhaps she’d be just as reckless either way— but whether its storm chasing or quarry diving or coaster riding, for Maka, the high of being alive in the face of imminent danger is irresistible. Addicting, even.
But of all the adrenaline highs she’s ever chased, nothing compares to Soul. No twister, no deep plunge into icy waters, no two-hundred-foot drop on a rollercoaster comes anywhere close to the way being with him makes her feel.

It's a well-known fact that the saliva of a blood drinker contains a sedative effect, both to subdue prey and keep them passive. In the modern world where violence and hunting are no longer necessary, it's an absolute mystery to Maka why her dear sassy roommate, Soul, would even willingly allow her to drink his blood to begin with.
Well, she ain't complaining. Neither is he, though, for whatever reason.
