The word echoes in her mind, ricocheting off the walls of her skull until cracks start to form, and then breaks free of the prison of her mind altogether, embedding its fragmented form into the depths of her chest.
She would carry it with her forever.
That’s all she is. That’s all Miorine saw her as.
Tainted by the weight of her actions, like a hangman’s noose pulling her to the bottom of the abyss.
She had never considered how easy it was. How unthinking it was. How fragile a human life could be. How she would do it again. And again. And again.
As long as it meant saving those that she loved.
Move forward, gain two.
Miorine was safe.
One.
In that moment and every echo thereafter, she became death.
Two.
(Miorine and Suletta are both alone and suffering following the events at Plant Quetta, driven apart by the fractures that neither can understand.

Summary
The Herrscher ignored the dull throbbing that was in her head. To say she was heartbroken was an understatement.
Lost, confused, delirious, they were all understatements. Nothing could describe how she was feeling.
The other had been there, in that body of hers while she was trapped behind an empty state, unable to interact with anyone else until now.
She'll kill her. If it's the other Kiana wants, then she can have her dead body. She doesn't understand. How would she? The Kaslana wasn't perfect, and it was expected.
She should've snuffed out that damn bloody illusion, that damn old-fashioned bird, there were so many opportunities for her to already do so ever since she was confined to that feather, unlike her; who was now free, free to do whatever she wanted in this body, unlike her now.
It was expected.
