Summary
Shortly after his return to New York, Arthur Lester is found comatose and blind in an alleyway with no memory nor idea towards what put him there. That's what he says anyway, since he has some idea considering the amount of enemies he's made in the past year. It would be a lot easier if most of it wasn't faded in strange obscurity when he tries to remember; if he hadn't gone through it all completely alone.
And then he starts seeing the same faceless stranger in his dreams.

“How’s it feel being back?”
Eddie gives an unconvincingly exasperated sigh to the plate he's scrubbing. “For all of six hours?” He can’t hold the stoicism long, Buck knows, not when he’s been having wine. Sure enough, his response is quiet, sincere. “Good. It feels good.”
Buck accepts the new plate. He takes more time than he should drying it, just to steel himself and start once he sets it down.
“So when should I—“
“Oh, I forgot to ask—“

Summary
LAX isn’t any more packed than it usually is, and despite that, Buck still feels like the amount of people he has to be aware of enough to skirt past on the way to Terminal Five is too many. All of the chaos fogs up his head. He keeps his hands balled in the pocket of his hoodie and picks up into longer strides to get somewhere he can sit down. The gate appears out of the haze and he scans the area in time to catch a family nearby getting up to meet their arrivee. It's a guy in a UCLA sweatshirt that immediately gets swept up in the arms of the oldest man in the group. UCLA squawks, “Oh my god, put me down, put me down, Dad—”, and Buck tunes the rest out.
He shuffles through and parks in a scuffed corner seat. It creaks under his weight. Buck sympathizes.

Then he breathes, tucks the phone away in his sweatpants. He goes and opens the door.
“Hey,” Eddie tells his dad automatically, tamping down the instinctual snarked, Sure, come right in. Ramon never waits to be invited, not when it comes to any threshold belonging to Eddie. The only time he has in recent memory’s been in LA, and that was mostly if Eddie had other people over.
He gives Eddie a look while he passes him, lip curling. “That’s all you’ve got to say? Hey?”
It, unironically, is.
