Summary
“Please tell me you're saving the best for last.” Galadriel complained, once they were alone. The private rink her father had built for his children was cavernous and quiet, despite the natural light that reflected blindingly across the ice. The slightest sounds echoed from the high ceilings.
“Your next victim isn’t scheduled until ten.”
“Who?”
Elrond flipped over a page on his clipboard. “Oh, yes. Smith. Halbrand Smith.”
“Smith? Never heard of him.” Such a common, unremarkable name. Not like Noldor, which had come to mean something in the figure skating community. Something about Noldor and Smith as a pairs name made her nose crinkle in distaste.
“I guess I’m a little early.” A voice called from the far end of the building, near the back door no one ever used. She didn’t know how long he’d been sitting there, watching the show, but he crossed the length of the ice in a pair of hockey skates. A giant equipment bag slung over his shoulder as if it weighed nothing.

Summary
Galadriel is living in a remote village in the rugged Sierra Madre where she has been brought to live with her ex-boyfriend, Halbrand, now revealed to be Sauron, a man she hunted for years, seeking justice for her brother’s murder. In the aftermath of her abduction, Galadriel’s attempts to find a way to free herself turn increasingly desperate, dark, and destructive, heedless of how much harm she does to herself, as she seeks to exact revenge, at any cost, against her captor.
Back in New Mexico, Elrond is on mandatory administrative leave from the police force after his wife was attacked, preventing his efforts to find not only Galadriel, but Celebrian’s assailants. Help arrives in the familiar form of his twin brother, Elros, who, working south of the border for the US Consulate, promises to aid his plight.

This story is a much darker sequel to Land of Enchantment exploring a range of triggering topics. I have tagged major triggers but please check chapter notes for more and please HEED THE TAGS. If this looks like something that will bother you, then be good to yourself and move on. The first four chapters in particular, are rough and then things lighten up a little bit.

Summary
When the forge was empty, and she was alone, Galadriel emptied the contents onto the table.
A full suit of armor. Glistening silver and with accents of gold, still untarnished after centuries of abandonment.
She’d known him as Halbrand then, and he’d made it for her in Numenor, the night before they sailed for Middle Earth. When she still thought of him as a friend.
She’d worn it on the battlefield as they’d fought side by side against their shared enemy. As they’d made a vow to each other before Valar.
“If I could keep it with me always…”
“I felt it too.”
As they’d bound themselves together in eternity.
Little did she know at the time, Sauron had made it for his queen. Absent malice or cruelty, he forged it with what little power his human form had with only one purpose. To protect her.
She may have refused his ring, but she’d taken the armor. And it held a power greater than anything he’d ever forged, before or since.
His love.
And she was going to destroy it.
-or- Galadriel looks into her Mirror for the first time, and finds out why it's important not to touch the water.
