A Penny Dreadful season 2 AU, canon-divergent from the end of season 1. Millennia ago, after the rebelling angels were cast out of Heaven, Nephthys betrayed her lover Amunet to the Master in Hell. Called back to the mortal plane by Victor's experiments and psychically melded to a once-human host, she seeks to atone for her crimes by creating an immortal army to protect Vanessa Ives. Meanwhile, Vanessa struggles to maintain her faith, the witches plot against one another as well as Vanessa, and Dorian's secret could catalyze the apocalypse.
Primarily told from Lily's POV, with a prelude (Hecate), an interlude (Vanessa), and a postlude (Dracula) by others.

With this new world, Sam is caught between realities, and his new power given to him by Lucifer brings him down a darker and darker path.

“There was a time you kinda liked me. I miss that.” Chuck muses. His words trickle cool over Sam’s senses like rain from above. Sam shivers, the weight of Chuck’s hand on his head as heavy as the weight of the ocean—and he’s stuck at the bottom, unable to breathe as it crushes the very air from his lungs.
“T-too bad.” He manages to choke out.
He feels Chuck’s fingers dig into his scalp, hard at first, and then the force melts away to a soft carding, the digits slipping through his hair like gentle praise. It tingles over his skin and zaps down his spine in a way that’s achingly familiar. The faster his blood rushes south, the more dread rises up inside him.
“Yeah. Too bad.”

Summary
The Winchesters aren't the only ones occasionally suffering from bad luck. There's a human, for example, who was taken from his family, died, refused eternal peace in order to play meat-suit for an angel, and then had to watch his angel turn himself into a slightly psychopathic god. To make matters worse, the poor human is assigned the task of taking care of a guest in Heaven who came straight from Hell: Sam Winchester, the boy king, taken hostage and threatened in order to make his equally demonic brother follow the new god's orders. And the new god is anything but patient, or merciful.
But neither, the human discovers, are Sam and Dean - especially when it comes to their respective brother being harmed.Series
