Summary
“Why did you forgive him?” It’s barely a whisper. “How can you forgive him? Because I cannot.”
Understanding washes over his features, going slacker by the moment. “That’s what this is about?” There is barely any reproach in his voice.
“Yes,” wrenches up from below her stomach filled with led.---
The world is not a fair or just place. Lorna knows this most of all, because if it were the punishment for her crimes would be far, far greater than anything she has endured on this (still quiet) hellish trip to Baldur's Gate.
But it is easy to grapple with the relatively light consequences for her own misdeeds. It's when the punishment grossly overcompensates for the crime that she begins to wonder: what does it mean to forgive? When would penance be paid? How do you stand up for others without robbing them of their voice? When do you stop reckoning with the past without forgetting accountability? And what rights do you have to the choices of other people? -

Summary
This is torture. This is what this prison is meant for. The never-ending torment of her worst decisions, coming back to haunt her, to plague her until she succumbs to madness and the bottomless pit of despair that must be lurking under this lonely rock island made of nightmares. This place will chew her up and spit her out with nothing left of herself.

Lariel Ingellvar should be familiar with death and loss. She finds out how hopelessly unprepared and naive she really is.
And that sometimes coming to terms with your decisions conflicts with those of others.

Summary
Somehow, he can’t let it go.
Or more accurately: Spite can’t let it go.
[...]
If he knew it was possible, Lucanis would even say the demon is infatuated with her – and he can hardly blame him. Sometimes it is impossible to say where his fantasies end and Spites begin.
But this? These images of a starry sky above, with her in his arms as he soars above Treviso or Arlathan or the ever-shifting light of the Fade around the Lighthouse, her laughter in his ear and her arms around his neck – that is all Spite.-
Lucanis decides to take a gamble and test the limits of the wings. So what if the singular reason for it is to take River flying?

Summary
Dinner had been lovely, largely due to the fact that Lucanis had decided to showcase his considerable talent in the kitchen with paella and dessert. She can still taste the chocolate on her tongue, swiftly followed by the flavour of roasted nuts and the subtly sweetness of the apricots and the liqueur. [...] She’d smiled into her drink and brushed her fingers against his when he had handed her a second cup.
-
When sleep eludes her, Rook (River) goes in seach for leftovers and tea - only to find that the dining hall was not as unoccupied as she thought.

Summary
Some stories about my Rook River Aldwir and (mostly) her realtionship with Lucanis.
There will be some pieces which contain other platonic relationships or only shorter fics in between canon.
All of them can be mostly read on their own.
If that should not be the case I'll post a guide for an order here.- Words:

Summary
Rook’s face muscle pulled as she said goodnight. The movement made Emmrich's face muscles pull as well. This, Manfred was certain, was called “equation.”
--
A series of vignettes depicting Emmrich and Rook’s strange little courtship from Manfred’s perspective. Tooth-rotting fluff in a most literal manner.
