Summary
Sam is going to save Mr Frodo and if he has to storm a tower alone to do so then he bloody well will.
There are however some things in this tower that Sauron seems to have forgotten about... Like a one handed throwback to the first age who'll be the perfect coach for not listening to cursed objects and has some considerable beef with a particular disembodied Maia.

Summary
“I wish you wouldn’t do this,” Lalwen complained in greeting. “Two brothers I have already lost, blindly charging that place. Must you add a third to my tally?”
“Maybe,” Finarfin said bluntly. It was still gentler than the truth on his tongue: It’s my turn.
(Or: in which Finarfin is, after all, the third son in the fairy tale.)

Summary
Blades like brands lifted in the air, poisoned words on serpents’ tongues, vicious spirits and furious hearts. Violence may at some point take even from the instigators, but in the moment they are victors, revolutionaries, wild bloodsoaked princes; the world opens before them, the sea lapping against the horizon, even if the waves wash in red.
There is less glory in the kinslayings that follow, but his decision is still his own. The dead litter the halls of Menegroth and the streets of Sirion, brothers die, defectors run from his terrible icy fury, children vanish into the merciless freezing forest. All of his own volition.
(Or, let it never be said that Maedhros had no choice.)

Summary
The impossible happened: a Silmaril has been stolen from Morgoth’s crown. Maedhros decides to reunite the People of Beleriand against the Enemy and attack him while he is still unprepared, which is by no means less impossible. Meanwhile, in the hidden city of Gondolin, Lord Glorfindel of the Golden Flower pursues the meaning of his recurring dreams – only to realize that he is not the only one to see them...
|| A novel-length canon gapfiller on the Union of Maedhros, the Nirnaeth Arnoediad and the downfall of the Sons of Feanor; plus my take on what could have been going on in Gondolin between the Bragollach and the Nirnaeth. ||
